NCL Service updates and system-wide changes
Changes to arrangements for GP Direct Access Diagnostic Imaging Service and Camden MSK service
InHealth currently provide a diagnostic imaging service for GPs across London at 24 different locations as well as support to Camden’s MSK service. Demand for diagnostics has reduced significantly since the temporary suspension of non-urgent elective surgery. To make best use of resources, the InHealth service will be reduced so that both staff and diagnostic equipment can be transferred to the NHS Nightingale Hospital.
The number of London diagnostic sites will be reduced from 24 to 3. These will be:
- Waterloo Diagnostic Centre, Waterloo
Open 7 days per week, 14 hours per day
- North London Diagnostic Centre, Enfield
To operate 1-2 days per week; days/hours will flex depending on demand
- Hornchurch Diagnostic Centre, Hornchurch:
Initially open Wednesdays for 12 hours); days/hours will flex depending on demand
Discussions are ongoing about the possibility of some portable equipment being transferred to community and primary care sites, supported by training, to support GPs locally. For those referring to this service, they should continue to use existing referral routes and patients will be contacted by InHealth to arrange appointments.
