Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health advice
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, representing 19,000 paediatricians and child health workers, has published advice for parents who may be confused over what to do if their child becomes unwell during the Coronavirus/ Covid-19 pandemic.
It is important to follow government advice to stay home during this period but the College says that parents whose child becomes unwell or injured should be aware that NHS 111, GPs and hospitals are continuing to provide safe care.
To help parents understand when and how to access help the College has produced a poster which highlights different symptoms and provides guidance for parents on how to access help including
- when to seek help urgently from an A&E or when to call 999
- when to contact their GP or NHS 111
