NCL work recognised at national level


The innovative and prodigious work happening across north central London is being recognised at national level.  Eleven nominations from across the NCL Patch have been shortlisted for the HSJ Awards run by the Health Service Journal.

In addition, the Barnet Sats Probe Home Delivery Team has been nominated for a NHS Parliamentary Award in the Primary Care Category. The Nursing Times Awards 2020 shortlisted five NCL initiatives.

Congratulations also go to the Camden Learning Disability Service, Camden Local Authority and Camden and Islington Foundation Trust were named Psychiatric Team of the Year: Intellectual Disability in the Royal College of Psychiatry awards

Excellence in Primary Care

  • London: Barnet Sats Probe Home Delivery Team

Established at the height of the first Covid wave, redeployed staff and local volunteers supported by GPs came together to set up an innovative new service to deliver oxygen saturation probes to patients’ homes helping patients stay at home with their loved ones, protecting NHS frontline staff and upskilling local residents, furloughed and redeployed staff.  The team embedded long lasting change in both supporting patients in their own homes and how the NHS works with local volunteers supporting their community

It has achieved success in clinical outcomes through service improvement, with real benefits to patients in reducing hospital admissions and providing care close to the person. The members of the Team demonstrate a clear commitment to the partnership working in an integrated service.
