Chief Nurse, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Flo was appointed as Chief Nurse at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) in April 2015. She has NHS nursing and leadership experience spanning 30 years, with a passion for nursing and organisational culture has experience of working with challenging trusts supporting and driving clinical leadership to improve services and outcomes for patients.
Experience of working at board level, UCLH being the fourth substantive NHS Director role held; Executive Board member and Non-Executive Director for NHS Innovation South East. She was recently appointed as the Chair of the Shelford Chief Nurse Group and co-chair of the NCL STP Health and Care Cabinet.
Flo is a Florence Nightingale Foundation Scholar and developed a ‘two trust’ joint leadership programme which she implemented at UCLH to support the key role of the band 7 Sisters/Charge Nurse across all sites. This was also delivered as a Nursing Leadership NCL STP programme in 2017.
As an invited member onto the Passionate About Caring Today (PACT) Group she has worked with Baroness Audrey Emerton, Dame Elizabeth Fradd, Sir Stephen Moss, Dame Tricia Hart and Anne-Marie Rafferty to develop the Care Cultural Barometer, which was launched in March 2015.
