Health Information Exchange
In Autumn 2018 NHS Barnet CCG stepped forward to be the early adopter borough for Health Information Exchange (HIE) and 16 practices responded to an initial 'expression of interest' exercise.
Penshurst Gardens Surgery agreed to be the first practice to go live and is in the process of delivering a communications campaign to patients to let them know about the programme and how they can opt out. The practice will go live on HIE in early May 2019 with next 15 practices following soon after.
If you are a GP practice in Barnet and have not submitted an expression of interest to join the programme please contact: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org for information about how your practice can join.
All practices joining the programme will be asked to sign a data sharing agreement (DSA) that has been reviewed by legal advisors and the GP Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure that it adequately addresses information governance requirements and safeguards patient information. If practices have any questions with regard to this DSA they should contact: Steve.Durbin@Enfield.gov.uk
NHS Barnet CCG and Barnet GP Federation have started conversations with the HealteIntent programme team about adopting HealtheIntent later in 2019. Dicussions are ongoing and updates will be provided as they progress.
