Proud to Care north London job portal launches

Proud to Care North London, www.proudtocarenorthlondon.org.uk, is an adult social care jobs portal which launched on Tuesday 18 June.

It allows care sector providers to post their jobs for free and offers a direct link to good local entry level jobs for residents looking for work or care workers looking to develop their career in the care sector.

Many people do not realise that the care sector can offer a number of great career pathways, with people who started as care workers now employed as HR directors, IT project managers and nurses, amongst others.

The Proud to Care North London portal showcases the wide variety of jobs and career opportunities available for people working in the care sector. Roles featured include jobs for people starting work with no experience to jobs that require experience such as day centre manager, HR nursing home training facilitator, care co-ordinator, field care supervisor and HR nursing home manager.

Care sector providers can register with the portal and upload job vacancies for free. They can also access a range of training and career development support to help them develop their workforce and retain their staff.

In north central London demand for services for the over 65s and 75s is rising and the local workforce needs to grow by more than 12,000 by 2030 in order to meet the needs of its older residents.

The website was developed by Camden Council and includes interviews with care workers from north central London. It is being promoted with a local bus, tube, poster advertising campaign and digital campaign.
