General practice staff offered free training in basic life support skills

General practice staff working in Haringey and Islington can access free training in conflict resolution, basic life support skills and safeguarding for adults and children following the launch in August of a pilot aiming to improve access to training, by Whittington Hospital and Haringey and Islington CEPNs (training hubs).

The two-hour courses, which are already delivered to staff in NHS trusts, will run at the Whittington Education Centre, throughout September, October, November and December.

The aim is to standardise the training offer across the system in order to consistently raise standards and increase skills and knowledge.

In addition to the classroom training, clinical and non-clinical general practise staff can also access a range of clinical and non-clinical free online training that is currently available to health and social care staff, go (https://www.e-lfh.org.uk).
